Willow Creek Streambank Restoration

Project Scope

Kinsley Construction is currently advancing Phase 2 of the Willow Creek Streambank Restoration project, building on earlier efforts to stabilize the stream and address ongoing erosion. Prior to construction, the stream experienced sediment buildup and bank instability, limiting its ability to effectively convey stormwater and increasing the risk of continued degradation.

Phase 1 focused on gravel bar removal and bank stabilization using a timber cribbing wall and imbricated riprap. Phase 2 expands on that work with additional in-stream and floodplain improvements designed to restore natural function and improve long-term resilience.

Our work includes:

Performing in-stream grading to improve flow and channel stability

Removing additional gravel bars to address sediment buildup

Installing timber log protection to stabilize streambanks

Completing floodplain grading to reconnect the stream to its surrounding area

Implementing stormwater management improvements to better handle runoff

Completing final landscaping to restore the site

By addressing erosion and improving stormwater management, this project strengthens the stream’s natural function and creates a more stable environment for surrounding ecosystems and the community. Once complete, Willow Creek will be better equipped to handle future storm events while maintaining ecological balance.
