Accounts Payable Specialist – York, PA

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the payment of goods and services purchased by the company. A successful candidate should possess applicable accounting experience, strong computer skills, good communication skills and a willingness to learn.

 TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Enter high volume of AP invoices into the Viewpoint accounting system
  • Enter/reconcile monthly material supplier accounts
  • Reconcile monthly vendor statements
  • Research and respond to vendor calls, faxes, emails, and other correspondence
  • Review vendor invoices for accuracy and alert management of discrepancies
  • Research any vendor or project manager questions regarding payment status
  • Assist in occasional tax audit projects
  • Assist Accounts Payable Manger and Controller with additional duties as required
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
Requirements
  • High school diploma required; post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of education and experience a plus
  • At least 2 years of accounting experience; Accounts Payable experience preferred
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and strong oral and written communication skills
