SUMMARY OF POSITION

We are seeking a driven and disciplined IT Support Specialist to join our Information Technology department. The IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing general end user technical support, managing the employee IT asset lifecycle, and managing all aspects of new hire IT onboarding and training. The IT Support Specialist must communicate clearly and effectively with all employees of the organization and will execute tasks to support overall IT department goals. The IT Support Specialist will report directly to the Director of Technology.

A successful candidate should possess excellent computer and infrastructure skills, effective communication skills and a willingness to learn.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manage IT asset lifecycle (deployment, monitoring & management, upgrade, refresh) of user computer(s) and mobile device(s)
  • Maintain accurate record of asset assignments and location
  • Perform device audits to confirm assignments are correct
  • Manage IT onboarding of new hires; from Hardware to Training
  • Collect and un-assign company assets for inactive employees
  • Setup and manage Active Directory accounts 
  • Assist with managing user changes in VOIP Phone System
  • Assist with managing accounts in Office 365 
  • Document and maintain internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities.
  • Provide general end user support
  • Assist with research and testing of new technology solutions
  • Train and mentor IT Interns to assist with day to day department functions
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

 

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to carry out assigned tasks independently with little supervision
  • Excellent at performing multiple tasks at the same time with accuracy
  • Analytical skills to study problems and records and identify solutions
