Landfill Cells 24B and 25A

Project Info

Kinsley constructed two separate but adjoining landfill cells.  The scope of work included

  • Blasting 135,000 cubic yards of rock
  • Crushing 65,000 cubic yards of rock
  • Installing 1,000 feet of leachate detection piping
  • Cell grading and liner preparation

For the liners, our site team prepared six inches of clay subbase for the liner contractor to install five layers of protective system to prevent leachate from entering the groundwater. It took three weeks to install, weld, and test the liner system.
