In an effort to relieve congestion and improve safety at the I-83 corridor in Shrewsbury, Kinsley was selected to build a diverging diamond interchange, or double crossover. Our scope of work includes:
- Replacing the existing, three-span I-83 bridge over SR 851 with a two-span bridge
- Lengthening and reconfiguring the ramps leading on to and off of I-83
- Replacing the culvert that carries Deer Creek beneath the interchange
- Installation of new traffic signals at the interchange
- Pile-driving 4,800 linear feet of foundation bearing piles for bridge foundations
- Numerous stream relocations
- Improving the storm water management system, including installation of 67 storm inlets, 3,200 linear feet of storm sewer systems and three storm water facilities
- 1,300 linear feet of curbing
