Republic Landfill Biological Treatment Facility

Project Info

Kinsley delivered a new biological treatment facility at the Modern Landfill for Republic Services, Inc. The facility is a pre-engineered metal building that encloses the space between two existing structures. It houses the necessary equipment to treat the water used in the landfill process.

Despite the size of the building, the project had several unique features:

  • Roof system was built from the inside out, starting with a metal liner panel to support the fiberglass insulation.
  • Interior concrete walls to add 3-hour fire protection, and epoxy-coated walls and steel to prevent rust formation due to the hazardous and caustic materials in the treatment area.

In addition, Kinsley self-performed all concrete work including the foundations, slab on grade, retention pit and equipment pads.
