Sand Hill Farmhouse

Project Info

Kinsley renovated the Sand Hill Farmhouse, originally built in 1782, to blend its traditional look with modern touches.

Our work began with demolishing an addition constructed in the 1980s and rebuilding a new 3,900-sq-ft, two-story addition featuring:

  • Three-seasons room
  • Modern kitchen and dining room
  • Great room with a masonry fireplace and timber-framed beams
  • Mudroom with lockers, a dog wash area and kennels
  • Three-car garage
  • Loft area
  • Media room

The project also included 2,000 sf of renovations:

  • Creating an updated, full bathroom
  • Adding closets
  • Converting a kitchen into storage
  • Remodeling a sewing room into an office with a powder room
  • Installing a 1,000-gallon liquid propane tank and generator
  • Drilling new wells for a geothermal heating and cooling system

To blend the existing farmhouse with the modern addition, our team saved all of the slate from the demolished building to mix in with the new slate for the roof. We also delivered updated exterior finishes to complement the existing architecture.
