York Arts Gallery Building Renovation

Project Info

Kinsley updated this art-deco building to provide more office space, classrooms, and modern equipment such as pottery wheels and kilns.

The scope of work provided new LED exterior signage, a reception desk with a concrete counter top, a kitchen with movable base cabinetry, motorized automated awnings, and a metal sculpture with a lighted background that is mounted on a rotating base on the sidewalk.

Additional work included:

  • Construction of a new handicap-accessible bathroom on the second floor
  • Installation of new floors throughout the first and second floors
  • Refinishing of the hardwood flooring in the existing window display area
  • Installation of all new electrical devices throughout the building
  • Skim coating, plastering, or patching all walls and ceilings
  • Installation of a new HVAC system
  • One-, two- and three-bedroom units on the upper floors, with open floor plans that range from 750 to 1,480 square feet
