Wanda Goode – Director of Financial Systems
Wanda Goode, Director of Financial Systems, started her journey in the construction industry right after high school, working part-time as an administrative assistant with Harold Hogg Construction. After graduation, the role transitioned into a permanent full-time position, where she quickly discovered her strengths in organization and analytical thinking. By stepping directly into the workforce, Wanda gained valuable hands-on experience early on and developed a deep appreciation for strong relationships and mentorship along the way.
Seeking a change, Wanda joined Kinsley Construction in 1997 and has blended financial expertise with IT and application support. From preparing proposals and subcontracts to collaborating with executives on dashboards and system improvements, she thrives on tackling new challenges. “I enjoy sharing all my years of knowledge,” she says, reflecting on her passion for helping others build confidence and expand their skills.
Career growth and adaptability have defined Wanda’s path. From administrative roles to project accounting, divisional controller, Vice President of Accounting Operations and now Director of Financial Systems, Wanda has consistently demonstrated her ability to evolve and excel. In her current role, she ensures that systems communicate efficiently while collaborating with her team through complex technical issues. Her favorite part of the job? “Working with the application development team—it’s different every day and it’s fun to collaborate with the team to reach our goals.”
Mentorship remains central to Wanda’s leadership style. She encourages her team to voice their perspectives, stay curious and embrace opportunities. “Women and men are different, and it’s important to be receptive to differing opinions,” she notes. “If you work hard and do your best, opportunities will come.”
Outside of work, Wanda enjoys gardening, running, hiking and spending time in her greenhouse and at-home vineyard. Family remains a priority, especially her two grandsons, with whom she spends as much time as possible.
“Construction and IT are always changing—you never stop learning. My goal is to pass along what I’ve learned and help others see how far they can go.”
