Courtney Kline – Site Operator
Courtney Kline, site operator, grew up in a family that valued hard work and determination. After high school, she began her career caring for the elderly at a nursing home. While she enjoyed making a difference in people’s lives, she quickly realized that a career in healthcare wasn’t the right fit. “I loved helping people, but I knew I wanted something different for myself,” she says.
Construction wasn’t something she initially planned, but family connections and encouragement guided her toward it. With several friends and relatives already in the industry, Courtney made a complete career pivot and eventually joined Kinsley Construction. She quickly began learning how to operate track loaders and haul trucks. Her dedication and natural aptitude for heavy equipment soon earned her the chance to run a dozer—and eventually a grader. “I love being busy and challenged,” she explains. “I thrive on problem-solving and learning from everyone around me.”
Mentorship has been a key part of Courtney’s growth. She credits Robert Naugle, Site foreman, for helping her refine her skills and gain confidence in the equipment operating. “He pushed me, taught me the right way to run equipment and helped me see what I was capable of,” she says. Over the years, Courtney has built her skills and earned respect from teammates and mentors alike.
In 2024, Courtney took a short break to become a mom. While she initially considered staying home full-time, she realized she wanted to continue her career. Returning to Kinsley Construction in April 2025, she picked up right where she left off, showing that it’s possible to balance parenthood with a demanding career. Her advice to women entering construction is simple: “Go for it. Don’t walk in thinking you’re different because you’re a woman. You’re one of them. Trust your gut, learn as much as you can and never stop growing.”
Outside of work, Courtney enjoys farm life and caring for her three horses. She grew up raising livestock and competing in show calves and other market animals. Family remains at the heart of her life, and with her husband and father-in-law also working in trades, hard work is always part of the household conversation. Looking ahead, Courtney’s professional goal is to become a grading foreman, building on her experience from track loader to dozer to grader. Personally, she strives to be the best mom she can be.
