Taking On a Challenge
Our Utilities team replaced 3,900 feet of 12-inch HDPE pipe along Mt. Zion Road in York, Pennsylvania. In collaboration with a local utility company, our team replaced the existing gas main and installed new service lines.
Our work is part of an improvement initiative in preparation for a planned commercial property along Mt. Zion Road. The 12-inch HDPE pipe will be able to service the entire property once it is built. It’s also one of the first projects where we used 12-inch HDPE pipe instead of the typical six- or eight-inch sizes. The size of the pipe determines the volume of gas that can pass through it, which is essential to maintaining optimal system performance.
After the team completed the replacement, both our Utilities and Highway & Bridge crews restored the concrete and sidewalks to their original condition.
With the successful completion of this complex project, Mt. Zion Road is now equipped with modern and reliable gas infrastructure. Thank you to the crews that worked on this project for another job well done!
