Penn State Harrisburg Academic Learning Center

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. (May 29, 2025) – Kinsley Construction has been selected as the prime concrete contractor for the new Academic Learning Center and chilled water plant project at Penn State Harrisburg.

As part of the project team, Kinsley Construction will self-perform all interior concrete work, including excavation, foundations, rebar placement, slab-on-grade and slab-on-deck for both buildings.

The new Academic Learning Center will feature a variety of collaborative and flexible learning environments, including four 60-seat classrooms, four 80-seat classrooms and four 120-seat classrooms. Additional spaces will include group study rooms, breakout areas and a multipurpose common area designed to foster interdisciplinary collaboration.

The accompanying chilled water plant will provide energy-efficient cooling to multiple campus buildings, supporting Penn State’s infrastructure and sustainability goals.

Kinsley Construction is proud to serve on this project. We look forward to working closely with the University and the construction management team at Alexander Building Construction, LLC. Construction is expected to begin in June and our portion of the scope will take six months to complete.
